- Is anyone out there using system 7.1 with the Xceed 30 8-bit card in the PDS ?
-
- After installing the card in my SE/30, I can boot from System 6.05 on a
- floppy, but not from the 7.1 Installer 1 floppy or from 7.1 freshly installed
- on the hard disk.
-
- Just to make matters worse, It booted fine from 7.1 on the HD the
- first time after installation, until I installed the "Virtual Video"
- cdev and changed the setting to 1K by 1k. I don't have any external monitor
- attached or the internal grey-scale adapter. After removing the cdev, the
- HD system still does not boot.
-
- More generally, can the presence of a card in the PDS influence the start-up
- process at boot-time in the absence of any INIT/cdevs for the card ?
-
- Thanks,
-
