  13. I am having problems with my Duo Hard drive and I was wondering first of
  14. all if
  15. there is anyONE else having similar problems and second if anyone can help.
  16. Here is the problem.  First the equipment.
  17. Powerbook 230 4/120 (original RAM and HD).  I reformatted the drive with
  18. the
  19. DiskTools floppy to take advatage of the unused HD space that Apple leaves.
  20. System 7.1 (only system that will run).  Extensions: Quicktime,
  21. Autoremounter,
  22. (both are supplied from Apple), Behierarchic1.05 (hierarchic menues),
  23. Superclock 3.9.1, PopChar2.5.2, SCSIProbe 3.5.  That is it.  I also have a
  24. duo dock and monitor.

  26.  Here is the problem.  Everytime I use the power interrupt button in the
  27. back I
  28. loos the HD.  It gets corrupted and won't boot.  I have to use MacTools2.0
  29. to recover it.  It is a total pain.  It shuts down normally under the
  30. finder, but whenever I am forced to do a hard shutdown (button in back).  I
  31. loose the HD.
  32.   I ended it up reformating my HD and installing a virgin system. This
  33. seemed to
  34. repair the problem.  The HD would survive a hard shutdown.  Then it
  35. happened
  36. agan last night!  Arrgggh.  This is very frustrating!!!  Any help out
  37. there?
