- Well, after posting the letter that started this thread, I would like to make
- a rebuttal to all the people who say "if you don't want it, don't buy it",
- or "they're a small company, give them a chance". First, let me say that I
- am supporting them by buying a product from an unknown company before it's
- even released. I do want the product (I love military/strategy games), so
- that's no problem. What I have a problem with Changling, or any other
- company for that matter is the fact that they keep making ridiculous dates.
- Like I said before, let them say "Hey, we're making this cool game. It'll be
- released in 1994, but you can start to back-order it now. You won't be charged
- until it's released". Maybe once in a while, post a follow-up. Then, if they
- release it in 1993, everyone will be happy. But if they keep saying "oh,
- two more weeks" or "we're at the final stages now, one more week" over and over,
- we as consumers will begin to doubt the company we're supporting. If they
- can't keep dates straight, what's to say they can do tech support, or upgrades
- like they keep saying they will do? All I'm saying is that they shouldn't
- attract attention just to deflate it later on. It's bad business (any basic
- economics course will teach you that). In order for people to purchase
- something, they have to first feel comfortable with the seller. Remember this
- that the buyer is ALWAYS, under ALL circumstances more important than the
- seller. We shouldn't give Changling a break simply because they're small.
- We're doing THEM a favor by paying our money to their company.
-
- Don't get me wrong though, I still have my copy of Pax on back order, and
- I *should* get my copy on Thursday, and if the game's anything like what
- some are saying, I'd probably enjoy it too. All I'm trying to say is that
- they should polish up their public relations a little. It's not that hard,
- if they use some common sense.

- Eagerly looking forward to my copy of Pax Imperia.
