- Arthur,
-
- Compact Pro is the program I use the most. It is available from sumex I
- believe, if not from wuarchive.
-
- .hqx files have been 'bin-hexed' with a program that converts between 7- and
- 8-bit words (I think I have that right). I originally used BinHex to unconvert
- .hqx files, but more often than not they were corrupted. Compact Pro has a
- Convert From BinHex option that works on a lot of the files BinHex failed on.
-
- BTW: If you don't have it, grab Z-Term. It is the best comm. program I have
- seen, and it's even shareware. IT has z modem as well (chances are, you'll
- have to grab the source for zmodem for your Unix machine from a site. Many
- Unix machines only have Kermit available).
-
- Hope this helps!
