-
- You're certainly the unbiased one, aren't you?
-
- VersaTerm's VT100/200 emulation is excellent. I haven't seen better, and
- I've seen plenty worse. I don't suppose you'd care to back up your
- statement with some facts, rather than just slandering the competition?
-
- VT supports the comm. toolbox (and was one of the first programs, if not
- the first, to do so). It does networking just fine--except for the flaw
- that was under discussion--one window for all sessions--which is indeed a
- holdover from the serial days. The supplied communications tools are very
- robust, which is more than I could say about the Intercon's TCP/Connect II.
-
- I tried Intercon's TCP/Connect II and found numerous bugs, including the
- ftp client crashing on more than half of attempted transfers. Tech support
- was very nice about it, but they didn't have a clue how to fix it, so I
- sent the program back (the money back guarantee was very much appreciated).
- I personally didn't think the interface very good at all. Telnet was
- inferior to NCSA Telnet (basically the same, just several versions behind
- in features), the ftp client was OK but Fetch is better, it didn't even
- HAVE a separate ftp server. The one big win was the very nice newsreader.
- This was awhile ago, and I imagine the program has gotten better, but I'd
- be amazed if it's as stable as VersaTerm.
-
- I appreciate Intercon's presence on the net, but unsupported swipes at the
- competition, and sans disclaimers at that, are not appreciated.
