  13. I got a replacement for a defective Zoom FX 9624,
  14. and have problems with the Fax part.
  15. When trying to send a fax, I get a "Fax Transmission Error"
  16. message before the modem even goes off hook and dials the number.

  18. I suspect that they sent me the wrong model.
  19. The case does not have any label;
  20. all I foud is a serial number: 1602ZAMX3091.
  21. The chip used is a Rockwell RC224ATL R6641-13.

  23. From ATIn I get the following responses:

  27. AT2    OK
  28. AT3    AF-C2500-E0
  29. AT4    ERROR
  30. AT5    ERROR

  33. I tried the AT+Fxxx commands, and most of them just return "ERROR":

  36. AT+FMDL?    ERROR
  37. AT+FCLASS=?    0,1 OK

  40. Does anybody know if this is indeed a Fax modem?
  41. What else could be the problem?

  47. P.S.: I'm trying to solve this problem through Zoom tech support;
  48.     their first suggestion was to try a new version of the 
  49.     software (QLII, v. 2.0.2), but it did not change.
