- I got a replacement for a defective Zoom FX 9624,
- and have problems with the Fax part.
- When trying to send a fax, I get a "Fax Transmission Error"
- message before the modem even goes off hook and dials the number.
-
- I suspect that they sent me the wrong model.
- The case does not have any label;
- all I foud is a serial number: 1602ZAMX3091.
- The chip used is a Rockwell RC224ATL R6641-13.
-
- From ATIn I get the following responses:
-
- AT0 242
- AT1 691
- AT2 OK
- AT3 AF-C2500-E0
- AT4 ERROR
- AT5 ERROR
-
-
- I tried the AT+Fxxx commands, and most of them just return "ERROR":
-
- AT+FMFR? ERROR
- AT+FMDL? ERROR
- AT+FCLASS=? 0,1 OK
-
-
- Does anybody know if this is indeed a Fax modem?
- What else could be the problem?
-
- Thanks a lot, and merry Christmas

-
- P.S.: I'm trying to solve this problem through Zoom tech support;
- their first suggestion was to try a new version of the
- software (QLII, v. 2.0.2), but it did not change.
