- Hi All,
-
- I just bought Correct Grammar 3.0.3 and want to use it with Word 5.1a.
- Problem is CG can not open Word 5.0 and later documents directly. You
- have to copy the contents of your Word document to the clipboard and then
- check the clipboard from CG. This would be allright, except that I have a
- fairly long document with many equations in it. If I copy to the
- clipboard from Word, it copies in RTF format which is what I want so that
- when I paste back the formatting is retained. However, RTF copy easily
- exceeds 32K characters for even small sections of my entire document, and
- CG has a limitation of only reading 32K characters from the clipboard
- (sucks! especially if you are forced to use the "clipboard method"). This
- means that I have to cut-check-paste-cut-check-paste... several times to
- get my entire document grammar checked. CG does an excellent job while
- checking, but this is not a very good way of doing things. I'm thinking
- of returning CG unless they plan on better support for Word 5.0 and beyond
- in the real near future (30 days). Any opinions/suggestions would be
- appreciated. BTW, I plan on contacting their tech support (long distance,
- but otherwise free) today.
-
- Thanks! Krash
