  12. We have a bunch of networked Macintoshes and two people have been having
  13. trouble printing TrueType fonts from PageMaker 4.2.  They each have their
  14. own LaserWriter IIg (which you may or may not know, the IIg does NOT have
  15. Zapf Dingbats in its ROM)  Anyway, both people have trouble when they 
  16. print Zapf Dingbats.  (We installed the TrueType version from Apple
  17. since their printers no longer had a Postscript version) and they can
  18. print it once but then the printer will not print again.  It has to be
  19. reset.  Also one of them said the Old English TrueType font which comes
  20. in the Apple Font Pack (we got this when we bought some Personal LaserWriter
  21. NTRs) caused a Postscript error when she tried to print it from Pagemaker.

  23. Anyone else have problems with TrueType fonts not printing, Pagemaker and
  24. TrueType fonts or the LaserWriter IIg and TrueType fonts?  These fonts 
  25. print just fine from other apps on my machine to the HP IIIsi that I use.
  26. Pagemaker does have it's own printer drivers.

  28. Some people have version 7.1.1 of the LaserWriter driver, some people have
  29. version 7.1.2  Could this cause problems (I know there are problems when
  30. some people use a System 6 LaserWriter driver and others use System 7's..)

  32. Is there a public domain Postscript equivalent of Zapf Dingbats?  I've looked
  33. in the archive.umich.edu Type 1 fonts directory on wuarchive but couldn't
  34. find anything.  I don't see why we should have to buy Zapf Dingbats, we've
  35. bought over 14 printers with it already...  We also have Adobe's Type on Call
  36. CD-ROM and Image Club's but neither lists Zapf Dingbats as a font they sell
  37. anyway (why would they it's built into every Postscript printer, well expect
  38. the IIf and IIg)

  40. Does it sound like a problem with the TrueType font, Pagemaker, the printer?
  41. Macintoshes in general :)
