- A friend of mine just recently purchased a Gravis Ultrasound 16 bit
- card. The card sounds great and has excelent clarity. The card can
- take 8 bit recordings and plays in 16 bit. The only problem we had
- was installing the card. It took two of us about 2 and a half hours to get
- the card installed and running. The installation software was not
- documented well and the setup program kept locking up the machine which
- required a cold boot to get any response fromm the machine. Other than
- that, the Windows drivers work well once you figure out their instillation.
- That too was frustrating due to poor documentation and the poor setup
- program.. Other than that, the card is a great value and I recommend it
- instead of the 8 bit sound blaster due to the great price. As of yet,
- I don't believe any compatability problems have occurred.
-
- Good luck,
- Cedrico.
