- A THING WITH 18 PORTS IN THE BACK OF IT !!
-
- I have a very odd machine indeed.... any ideas what it is & what it can do ?
- Rough description :
- Appears to be 'Genroco GE1121' but has 'BusinessTelecommunicationsServicesLtd'
- stickered on it
- PC-Desktop case, with:
- On the back there are 16 ports marked 0-15, these are 25-way female
- Ports 7 & 15 are blocked off with some sort of terminator.
- There are 16 LEDs, one for each port.
- Also 2 other ports, also 25-way female, one is 'Local Shutdown' one is 'Run'.
- 5.25" floppy
- 1/2 height hard disk, Fujitsu (the M2227D2 I just mentioned)
- Huge & loud fan, with a 2.5 amp fuse next to it.
- On the front, 2 buttons : Run/Halt, and Boot
- Inside it's also quite odd -
- 3 boards behind the ports, 'General Robotics Corp 1987'
- A stack-type case (25cmx30cm), with 4 slots, which have:
- floppy card,
- hard disk card,
- 2mb out of 4mb (I think),
- other odd cards
-
- I have a VT220 terminal with it, which has 2 ports:
- MAIN -> server
- AUX -> serial
- I've managed to connect a modem to this one, and call up the BBS,
- so that works !
-
- Any ideas on how to connect the 2 things together, what comms protocols etc
- greatly appreciated... or source for a manual ?
-
- cheers
