- Ahum. My NEC 4FG, which has almost the same tube as the 3FG (I've checked
- in the store) has a viewable area of 13.8". This is typical for all 15"
- displays. I don't expect the Viewsonic to do any better. But the 3FG
- will do 1024x768 only interlaced, which the Viewsonic can do NI. In fact,
- you should probably compare the Viewsonic to the 4FG. In that case, the 4FG
- is technically a better monitor, but the Viewsonic is cheaper and has a
- somewhat higher video bandwidth. After some thinking, I decided to pay
- the additional US$100 for the NEC. But I would choose the 6FS over the 3FG.
-
- Talking about viewable area, the SUN I'm writing this on has a 17" Trinitron
- tube with, you guessed it, 15.5" viewable diagonal. Same as the NEC 5FG,
- viewsonic 7, Nanao 550 and 560 ...
