  34. Ahum. My NEC 4FG, which has almost the same tube as the 3FG (I've checked
  35. in the store) has a viewable area of 13.8". This is typical for all 15"
  36. displays. I don't expect the Viewsonic to do any better. But the 3FG
  37. will do 1024x768 only interlaced, which the Viewsonic can do NI. In fact,
  38. you should probably compare the Viewsonic to the 4FG. In that case, the 4FG
  39. is technically a better monitor, but the Viewsonic is cheaper and has a
  40. somewhat higher video bandwidth. After some thinking, I decided to pay 
  41. the additional US$100 for the NEC. But I would choose the 6FS over the 3FG.

  43. Talking about viewable area, the SUN I'm writing this on has a 17" Trinitron
  44. tube with, you guessed it, 15.5" viewable diagonal. Same as the NEC 5FG,
  45. viewsonic 7, Nanao 550 and 560 ...
