- I don't think there is any way to avoid disabling emm386. However,
- there is something called a "UMB provider" that you can use to load stuff high.
- There is one called umb_drvr that I used to load stuff high so that I
- could play Ultima 7. I believe that you can find a copy in the Simtel
- archives. Be warned however, that umb_drvr expects you to indicate what
- chipset you have. In addition, its command line arguments are fairly
- hard to use. But it worked for me.
