- I haven't received my copy of the registered version yet, so this
- might be corrected in that version, however:
-
- The documentation that comes with VGA Planets is rather sparse. I've
- learned a bit from reading messages posted by those who have played
- for longer than I have, and learned more still (especially about strategy)
- by playing. Not that I have this game mastered, by any means.
-
- So, what I'd like to to is write a compleat manual for the game. I'll
- start with the existing docs and help screens and write something that
- a newcomer can read and quickly pick up a game and go.
-
- I plan to include things like what keys mean what things on each screen,
- tech level charts, and what ships are available at each tech level for
- each race, strategy hints, a quick tutorial for people who don't read
- manuals, etc. All, this, with a table of contents and indexed.
-
- I'd also like to include things like how the game is initialized, how
- home planets are selected, etc.
-
-
- I haven't talked to Tim Wisseman, but I do plan on it. Still I'd like
- to hear from anyone who has any hints, or suggestions in playing the
- game; from anyone who has internals knowledge about the game that they'd
- be willing to share, and from anyone who has played enough to feel they
- have reasonable strategies for winning (or at least doing well) in the
- game, and would be willing to share them.
-
- I'm willing to email out a compilation of everything I get to anyone that
- wants it. The manual won't be finished quickly, but I'll post when it
- is.
-
- Thanks,
-
- Sean.
