- Bob, what you say about Atari the company is true. The Tramiels are bunch
- of idiotic geeks, Atari would be a number one company if it didn't have
- the management problems it is experiencing (as would Commodore), Dave
- Bagget was utterly screwed by Atari and I cannot believe the *morons* who
- think what happened to him was his fault, and finally, I don't think that
- the Falcon will be a very successful computer nor will any of the new
- Amigas.
-
- However, there comes a point when you just walk away and forget about
- fights you *CANNOT* win. You will not be able to change atari, they're
- very happy with the way they are and will remain that way for many years.
- They are *not* going out of business any time soon (nor is commodore)
- because of their European market. When you post here, you are either
- preaching to the choir in my case when you slam atari or you are yelling
- at the equivalent of atari drug addicts who cannot believe atari can do
- wrong. Give it up, buy yourself a PC or a mac and be *HAPPY*... Atari
- is not worth a heart attack...
-
- I myself don't give a flying you-know-what about software availability for
- the ST. Spectre will be converted to it so it will have the mac software
- library for many years to come. And I utterly refuse to buy a PC until they
- pack them standard with a real memory mapped graphics board or SGI like
- graphics co-processor, and a real soundboard. It's been 10 years since
- those things were developed and all they have managed to do is up the
- processor speed and memory capacity and the graphics rez. BFD...
- They still suck and will probably remain that way for some time... Middle
- class america might be happy with such schlock but I wouldn't be...
-
- This means that despite my *MANY* misgivings with Atari and Commodore my
- next computer will be an Amiga or a Falcon unless someone comes out with
- something else. A 32 MHz board in the Falcon would make me a very happy
- man... After watching a slew of European demos last night, I realized
- why I will never buy a PC. You will never see the graphics in those
- things on the PC in anytime soon... I'm sure there are equally if not
- more impressive pieces of work on the Amiga. Finally, Bill Gates is a
- weenie, remains a weenie, and most likely always will be a weenie (a rich
- weenie though). he doesn't need my money...
