- Strange! V42 is an error correction and should give greater transfer speeds
- as it strips off the start and stop bits it does not need.
- Are you sure you did not turn off MNP and where getting an MNP 5
- connection. MNP 5 is known to slow down transfer rates on files that have
- already been compressed.
