  11. Well, I just grew up and as such, I must give up my Amiga 3000.
  12. I love my Amiga and would never want to part with it.  I will
  13. always miss my Amy.  But, I entered the real world yesterday.
  14. I got a job, I got breifed, and I have to get a notebook.

  16. Sadly, there is no Amiga notebook, thus I am off to the IBM
  17. compatable market.  I can not afford both computers, so I
  18. must realize the fact that Commodore has screwed up the Amiga
  19. so bad that it isn't usable in todays world.

  21. Anyways, so here is why I am posting to this group.  I need
  22. help in my search for a laptop/notebook.  "Hey, that doesn't
  23. have anything to do with the Amiga" I hear many shouting, but
  24. it does.

  26. You see, I want to keep as much of the strengths of the Amiga
  27. as possible, but on a different platform.  Of course the laptop/
  28. notebook will be a 486SLC with color screen (~$5000) becase this
  29. is what I am forced to purchase.  My job requires it.  It also
  30. requires specific software writting for i486 processors... on the
  31. fly (or bus, or train, etc...)

  33. So, when not running the companies software, I have this wonderfull
  34. notebook computer, and what OS is best and closest to the Amigas?

  36. OS/2 2.0?  It looks nice, but I haven't played around with it much.

  38. Does it offer "ToolManager2" type effects (ie. Dock, TextDock, etc...)

  40. What is out there on the IBM side that is simular to the Amiga?
