- You're once again missing the point: if MS sells me Windows for $8 if I agree
- to pay for a copy for every machine I sell, but triples the price if I don't,
- then that's force. I have no economically sound choice but to give in to their
- extortion; after all, the alternative is a tripled cost and the likelihood
- that they'll sue me to death if they can find an excuse - like, say, they
- think (independent of reality) that I've shipped copies I haven't paid for;
- the cost of the litigation and audits alone could ruin a company...
