  14.      IBM is  initiating a Beta program  for OS/2 2.1 and  the OS/2 2.1
  15.      Toolkit.  The  code  is  being  made  available  for  testing and
  16.      development  feedback purposes  only, and  should NOT  be used in
  17.      production. The purpose of this Beta program is to get input from
  18.      key constituents that will be  integrated into the final software
  19.      product,  enabling us  to deliver  the highest  level of quality,
  20.      compatibility, and  function in this  world-class product. Notice
  21.      of this Beta program will also be posted on CompuServe,
  22.  
  23.      DESCRIPTION
  24.  
  25.      This Beta contains several enhancements to the award-winning OS/2
  26.      2.0  code,  including  support  for  Windows**  3.1 applications,
  27.      multimedia, a 32-bit graphics engine, expanded SVGA, XGA, printer
  28.      and CD-ROM support for industry standard devices as well as fixes
  29.      to customer reported problems.

  31.      PREREQUISITES
  32.      -  Requires a test system capable of executing OS/2 Version 2.0
  33.      -  Requires a minimum of 42MB of DASD for a full install
  34.      -  Requires a minimum of 32MB of DASD for a default install
  35.  
  36.      ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS
  37.  
  38.      For  customers  without  local  branch  office  support or remote
  39.      customer  locations,  the  Beta  will  be  available on CD-ROM by
  40.      calling  1-800-3IBMOS2,  available  in  the  United  States only.
  41.      Customers  will be  charged a  fee of  $15 to  cover shipping and
  42.      handling. This Beta program will end on February 28th, 1993.

  45.      Support for customers without local branch office support will be
  46.      provided on CompuServe and in the OS2BETA CFORUM on the OS/2 BBS.
