- Okay, here's the deal.
-
- Two years ago, I got a hold of a Genoa 6400 512K SVGA card for my Everex 3000A
- motherboard (a 16 MHz ISA 386, manufactured before there WAS such a beast as
- the 386SX). It worked fine. It displayed 800x600 256-colors just fine.
- The 800x600 16-color windows driver supplied with it worked just fine.
-
- But both the 640x480 256-color and the 800x600 256 color Windows drivers that
- came with it didn't!
-
- Oh, sure, they displayed Windows in 256 colors. They let me manipulate the
- palette with nice RGB calls. But EVERY SINGLE TIME I moved the mouse while
- the hard disk was running, the "erased" area that used to be under the mouse
- got replaced with a pink-and-white rectangle full of garbage, instead of the
- image that was supposed to be there!
-
- Although this happened in *text* mode sometimes (leaving a white cursor block
- where the mouse used to be), it has *never* happened with any of the 16-color
- Windows drivers (Microsoft-supplied or Genoa-supplied), and *always* happens
- with each of the 256-color drivers.
-
- Changing my MOUSE.COM/MOUSE.SYS to the one in DOS, the one in Windows, the
- one that came with my mouse, etc., didn't help.
-
- Neither did downloading the "new and improved" Windows video drivers from
- Genoa's BBS (I'm using version 3.3 now), or finegalling the non-graphics-
- driver drivers in Windows, or following Genoa's instructions for changing
- my SYSTEM.INI file to the letter.
-
- Has ANYONE out there EVER had a problem even REMOTELY similar to this one
- before?!? HEEEEELLLLPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
-
- Still stuck in 16-color land,
