- Let me just take this opportunity to say that it's obviously a problem
- with the printer driver. Well, not an error really, just it hasn't
- been though out well. It's never going to work (not with that driver
- anyway); just give up.
-
- Let me add that I think the printer drivers Microsoft includes with
- it's products SUCK! SUCK! SUCK! They treat almost *every* printer like
- it's a draft printer. For example, BJ10ex printers support an italic
- font. Microsoft makes a driver for it called BJ10EX.DRV. Okay, the
- name of the driver implies that the driver knows what this printer can
- do and make it do it, right? WRONG!!! If you specify italics the
- stupid f*ck driver will *backspace* *and* *underline*. Grrrrrrr!!!!!
- In fact, THIS IS HOW MOST MICROSOFT DRIVERS HANDLE ITALICS ON PRINTERS
- WITH BUILT-IN FONTS! And don't get me started on their Panasonic Laser
- Printer drivers either. They also don't use *any* of the built in
- fonts. I mean, do these guys read the technical manuals for these
- printers or what? I almost expect to do a dir on the drivers and see a
- bunch of files with different names but all of the same number of
- bytes. (Makes you wonder.) You're much better off, in most cases,
- using another driver altogether. (Like an Epson one works best with
- the BJ10ex and the generic HPII one works best with a KX-P4410.) I
- mean, at least be honest and put out a driver named PRINTER.DRV or
- something and stop toying with me, man!
-
- And get this. I tend to *prefer* Microsoft apps. I just can't stand
- the f*ck*ng drivers! (Microsoft, are you listening???)
-
- I'm sorry for the outburst (I'm not even an undergrad) but I had to
- get this pet peeve off my chest.
