- If you run Pro with DRDOS 6.0 (as I do), the Express Menu includes a
- TaskMax Control... option. Selecting it allows you to create, run, or
- delete TaskMax tasks. There's also a toggle for Clipboard Support, but
- I haven't tried it... Other TaskMax tasks also show up in the Express
- Menu itself, intermingled with your GEOS processes. It's easy to spot
- them, since they're in all capitals.
-
- The only thing you need to remember is to run TaskMax _first_, and then
- run GEOS. This sets up GEOS as a task, allocating some amount of memory
- to it. Then, when you call another task, GEOS is just swapped out, not
- shut down altogether. If you use Zmodem or other external programs
- frequently, this is a Good Thing. You can even make a launcher for an
- external program, and have it come up on your Express/Startup menu, then
- run as a TaskMax task. Almost as good as having it run _in_ GEOS. ;)
-
- The only caveat is that if GEOS is run under TaskMax, it will NOT be given
- access to lots of extended memory. If you're going to be editing files
- that use a lot of extended memory, it's best to drop out of GEOS, turn off
- TaskMax, and re-run GEOS.
