- Norton Utilites, and Central Point set up some neat additional colors
- in the EGA/VGA pallette. To make room for these extra colors, they replace
- the "blinking" colors with their new colors. When you put up the DESQview
- menu. DESQview changes the pallette to the default EGA/VGA pallette, which
- means the neat colors change back to blinking colors. There are a couple
- of things that you can do.
-
- 1. Ignore it. It does no harm. (If all windows are full screen,
- you won't even notice it much.)
-
- 2. Use the pallette program that comes with DESQview to change the
- DESQview default pallette to one where the colors don't blink. The
- program, and its DVP file are loaded by default into the DESQview
- directory, but not loaded into the DESQview menu. Use Add-A-Program
- to add it to the DESQview menu.
-
- 3. All of the Norton Utilities have a command line switch to turn
- off the neat colors. Use the /? option to find out what the switch
- is. If you can put the programs in CGA mode, you can get the same
- effect.
