- I would really like to update to the 1.1 client from 1.03, but it rather
- erratically dumps core on a Segmentation Fault. It may work without
- problems for 10 times and then dump every time for the next 10.
-
- I have compiled it on a Sun 4/490, SunOS 4.1.2, using the bundled C
- compiler, as well as GCC 2.3.1. The behavior is identical. The only
- non-standard think I may have done in the Makefile is select -DLOADRESTRICT
- or whatever it is called.
-
- I have been running 1.03 for a month without one observed core dump.
-
- Has anyone else observed this? Any suggestions what may be causing it? I
- have a suspicion it may be occurring during host lookup. The Sun is using a
- totally stock Sun DNS over NIS configuration. Please note that 1.03 works
- flawlessly, as well as xgopher 1.2.
