  10. I am looking for information on the "heartbeat" or SQE signal (probably
  11. different!?)

  13. I have gotten the 802.3 standard and it simply mentions a flow chart or two,
  14. but does not mention what these sinals ARE (are they real transmissions, or a
  15. loopback to check operational status?) Also, why do they hose up a repeater?
  16. (I believe they totally screw up a DEC DEMPR).
