- In regards to a previous post about availability and ram:
-
- I ordered a 486-SX 25 Package 3 in October and got it on December
- 23. It has the VLB video card (NCR chip) and 8 megs of ram in
- two 4MB 70ns sims. I ordered but did not recieve the 128K SRAM
- chip but when I called tech support they said it would be shipped
- out right away--so it is apparantly not vaporware.
-
- There are only 4 simm sockets on the board so to upgrade to the
- full 64MB you'd have to dump 4 MB simms in favor or 16MB simms.
- At least, that's the way it is in my Tower.
-
- Aside from the missing cache and the power switch on the tower
- which sticks slightly I'd say my system arrived in dynamite
- shape and it really flies even with an SX-25. I'm very
- pleased.
-
- However, be advised that it did take me nearly two and a half
- months to get the system. I was told it was because they were
- short some processors for a while and Intel was backed up.
- If someone else got there system in 5 days then things are
- clearly looking up.
-
- Having worked with the system for a week or so now I can clearly
- say that if I had to do it over again I would buy from Zeos
- again!
