- "Suddenly the sky opened and he saw the Spirit of God descend like a dove and
- hover over him. With that, a voice from the heavens said, `This is My
- beloved Son. My favor rests on him.'" --Matthew 3:16-17
-
- Before Jesus began His public ministry, He needed to be confirmed by the Spirit
- and affirmed by the Father. Before we minister in Jesus' name in 1993, we also
- need to be empowered by the Spirit and hear the Father's affirmation. We must
- know deep down that we are temples of the Holy Spirit (I Cor 6:19), beloved
- children of the Father and pleasing in His sight (see Mt 3:17).
-
- Confirmed and affirmed, we will go about "doing good works and healing all"
- who are "in the grip of the devil" (Acts 10:38). We will establish "justice
- on the earth" (Is 42:4, 6). We will be "a light for the nations, to open
- the eyes of the blind, to bring out prisoners from confinement" (Is 42:6-7).
-
- These are the works of Jesus and His followers. In fact, we who have been
- confirmed by the Spirit and affirmed by the Father can do works even greater
- by far than Jesus did (Jn 14:12). Why? Because we believe in Him and He
- intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father.
-
- On this last day of the Christmas season, open up to the ultimate Christmas
- present. Ask for the Trinity to do in you what was done at Jesus' baptism.
- Alleluia!
-
-
- Prayer: Father, thank You for the wonders of Your love during the Christmas
- season.
-
- Promise: "We must do this if we would fulfill all of God's demands." --Mt 3:15
-
- Praise: Alleluia! The Father loves, Jesus saves, the Spirit confirms!
- Alleluia!
