- WARNING! POSSIBLE WEIRD CONNECTION!
-
- About a year ago, I was "auditioning" for a band (it actually turned out
- the other way around, but back to the point). The audition took place
- at the drummer's house. Seems there was also this Russian guy, named
- Misha, who played keyboards, who was staying with the drummer. Misha
- didn't have any keys of his own, he used the singer/keyboardists. And
- he had no money. Guess the drummer found him wandering the streets of
- Portland, Maine, -kind of lost-, felt bad for him and took him home.
- He could play, but didn't want to play the blues/roots/rock the band
- was looking for. He was more interested in "big-hair and spandex" rock.
- The real problem was that he wouldn't leave. It was a Problem.
-
- Odds are unlikely it's the same guy, but caution is advised.
-
- Also, on this "audition". This drummer had a studio behind his "house".
- The studio was loaded with recording goodies, etc. It was bigger than
- his house. His house had 4 rooms (bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom),
- where he lived with his wife and kid (and Misha). The furniture etc. was
- old sponge cushions with blankets on them. But his studio was top-o-the-
- line. I felt like slapping some sense into the jerk. Some people.
- Obviously I'm still pissed at the guy.
-
- And, at the time, the drummer and singer had just quit a band, because
- they didn't want to play Elvis covers at the VFW. Turns out, the man
- who wanted to play Elvis at the VFW is one of the physicists I now work
- with. And, the singer had auditioned for one of *my* bands many years
- earlier! Her name was Slocum. I'm not kidding.
