-
- Obvious solution:
- buy the best record you know on CD... Suggestions (in order of preference):
- Peter Hammill -- Over
- Patti Smith -- Wave
- Joni Mitchell -- Don Juan's Reckless Daughter
- etcetera...
-
- Less obvious solution:
- The above solution will immediately pose the enormous problem of having to
- decide which record is 'best', generating all sorts of moral conflicts and
- inner struggles, maybe even leading to nervous breakdowns, personality crisis
- and other highly undesirable side-effects. Thus the following is suggested:
- buy a $2 CD of which you're sure you'll absolutely HATE it -- the kind you
- can play at most once in your life, after which you'll only use it as a
- frisbee. This way you'll probably avoid the solution-1 problem...
-
- Dumb solution:
- Invite a friend and ask him/her to bring a random CD (don't tell why). At
- least good for a surprise.
-
- Extremely stupid solution:
- Don't use your CD player.
