  25. Wrong again.  Charges have been filed with the State EEO office by two
  26. of the five.  Civil lawsuits have also been filed.  So what are you
  27. talking about?

  35. It's called reality.  Said woman (don't know if she was a lawyer or a
  36. secretary, since the articles I read only mentioned secretaries) needed
  37. her job, just like she said.

  39. She probably had bills to pay and couldn't afford to fight this and 
  40. risk being blackballed from the industry.  If you had to feed your
  41. family and had a huge mortgage and couldn't afford to miss one
  42. paycheck (a very typical situation in Silicon Valley with our
  43. $300,000 homes), would you call on your manager if he played fast
  44. and loose with his ethics?  Remember, if you blow the whistle, you'll
  45. probably lose your job, and a lawsuit will drag on for years.
  46. Meanwhile, who is going to feed your children when your paycheck
  47. goes away.  Answer: that's probably why she put up with it.

  49. It happens, it's real, and what kind of person are you to blame 
  50. the victim for this?  I'd say at least half the women I've talked 
  51. to have been sexually harassed in one form or another.  One 
  52. co-worker today told us that she was fired for not sleeping with 
  53. her boss.  She was 19.  (this was 25 years ago)
  54. It's always happened; what's changed is finally the bastards who do
  55. this are getting punished.
