  13. A cassette compilation of music by 17 Bay Area bands and individuals has
  14. just been released in conjunction with a new issue of FREEWAY. 
  15. Both are products of the I.M.A., a group of people interested in
  16. playing and/or listening to, writing about, photographing... improvised
  17. music in Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco.

  19. The cassette has music by Rubber City,  Henry Kuntz, Ovaryaction, Fracture,
  20. Vacuum Tree Head, The Splatter Trio, Pluto, Mic Gendreau, The Non-Whites, 
  21. The Manufacturing of Humidifiers, Mike Shannon, Bruce Ackley & (I forget),
  22. Scattertactics, 99 Hooker, Better Hose and Garters, and the Hinds Brothers.

  24. The issue of FREEWAY has interviews with Ken Filiano and Jack Wright, 
  25. and reviews of concerts by Derek Bailey, John Oswald, and some local 
  26. bands, along with an insert with sections written by each band
  27. on the tape.

  29. I feel a little odd advertising this because my band (Man of Hu) is on
  30. the tape, and I wrote some of the articles in FREEWAY, but I'm not making any
  31. money from this; all money will be funneled into future tapes (or CDs),
