  26. Also, since I've had a number of enquiries from people asking what these are,
  27. here's a brief summary:

  29. MT32:    Multitimbral MIDI sound module. Has 128 sounds plus drum kit. This was 
  30.     an "industry standard" for cheaper modules a few years ago, and 
  31.     appearently a lot of computer games know about it & use it.
  32.     Sounds are mostly imitations of traditional instruments, with
  33.     some special effects and "synth" sounds.

  35. U220:    Multitimbral MIDI sample player. (Preset sounds, it's not a recording 
  36.     sampler).  Built-in chorus & reverb effects. Has 128 sounds plus 4 
  37.     selectable drum kits.  Many traditional instrument sounds, 
  38.     plus others suitable for modern pop/rock. Much higher quality sounds 
  39.     than the MT32, some of them can be considered to be "professional" 
  40.     level.

  42. TR505:    Drum machine. Has 16 sounds (basically standard kit plus some latin).
  43.     Internal sequencer, can store 6 songs in memory. Can also be used
  44.     with MIDI; has input & output capabilities.

  46. Korg 707: Multitimbral synth. 4 Octave keyboard with velocity sense &
  47.       aftertouch; 100 sounds, mostly "synth-ish" rather than traditional
  48.       instruments. Fair sound editing capabilities, reasonable MIDI
  49.       capability. (No onboard sequencer).
