- I've got Dillon's UUCP 1.16D running on my 2.04 amiga 3000 and connecting
- to a vax ultrix 4.1 system at work via a 9600 baud line. I can connect
- through this same line using vlt and transfer files at roughly 900cps.
-
- However, uucp seems to be only getting something like 140cps. I've
- tried different packet counts (1-7) to no avail. Could I have my
- modem configured badly for uucp? There is an identical v.32 modem
- at each end (DF296). I've tried enabling/disabling data compression
- and not really seen any difference at all.
-
- Any suggestions at all would be appreciated. I have a decstation 5000
- I've been trying to get taylor uucp running on but haven't had much
- luck. Keep getting protocol errors once it tries to transfer the
- first file. Not that it will matter anyhow, because the VAX is where
- news is running.
-
- Oh yeah, one other thing during the slow transfer from the VAX, I get
- a number of messages about wrong packet numbers or something like that.
-
- thanks,
