  10. I've never used this particular product, but I've seen basting tape at my local
  11. fabric store.  It's a thin strip of adhesive tape that will stick to both
  12. pieces of fabric, and should be removed after stitching.  I would think that
  13. this would be the thing to use with slippery stuff, providing it does not leave
  14. any residue on the silk or the polyester.  It should hold both pieces of fabric
  15. securely enough and smoothly enough for sewing (at least that's what it claims
  16. to do, at any rate).  Good luck with your project!
