- About ten years ago around here we had the following situation:

- - Strong onshore winds for several days
- - Extreme low barometric pressure
- - Strong rains in the mountains (thus increasing the flow of water
- into the San Francisco Bay.

- As a result, the tides were so high that half the docks in one marina
- floated off their pilings, and floated away with boats still attached.
- Fortunately, I had moved my boat out of that marina about two earlier.
