- : sacramental while the drugs others choose are a sin. Let the infant

-
- Hm, were you talking about me? If not, them my comment do not apply.
- It is hard to tell, since you did not quote any of the thread. Mighty
- nice of you.
-
- I do not feel that drug users should be in prison - period. I do
- believe that people who harm others should be. This includes muggers
- and rapists and drug abusers who get high and drive. I also believe
- that these people should be required to help pay for their keep.
-
- : Right now I've got a friend on Rikers, doing time for simple

- : So he's a con. You're going to put him to work? I hope they tax
- : your butt till it bleeds for the cost of keeping him locked up. I hope
-
- See above. I don't even believe he should be in prison. I strongly
- disagree with having to pay taxes to support such a person - anywhere
- from $30,000 to about $75,000 per year. Why does it cost so much,
- anyway?
-
- : eventually you'll get tired of paying to have people locked up and
- : decide that there really aren't that many non-violent, non-ripoff
- : crimes that we have to protect ourselves from. The only way it's
- : going to happen is if the people have to pay and pay and pay.
-
- Possibly. However, I doubt if people will think of that. We will have
- to get the media partly on our side - so people will learn exactly how
- much this stupid war is actually costing them.
