  24.  Not that much taken with THE COMPUTER CONNECTION.....
  25. but as long as we are taking about SF into film the new future-fiction
  26. SF show spinoff of Star Trek and other such like makes me think
  27. of the perfect prose series for film or TV adaptation would be
  28. Poul Anderson's super sophisticated space opera. Of particular
  29. merit would be the Flandry of Terra novels and stories. It would
  30. be like doing doing the next step up from Star Trek. One would have
  31. all the adventure and action and space opera, but at a higher level
  32. of thought. This is not the best SF Anderson has written but it seems me
  33. to be something of a higher popular appeal. If done right of course.
  34. Almost the end evolution of space opera a la Doc Smith.
  35. We got Doc Smith finally done right with Star Wars (with a little
  36. SF from the 40's thrown in), now it would be nice to bring SF past
  37. Star Trek and Star Wars up Campbell's utlitmate form in Anderson's
  38. SF. (Alas that    filmed DUNE missed that mark!)
