- Here are the answers to the HIGHLANDER QUIZ. Thanks to those who attempted the
- quiz, your replies were generally accurate and in some cases forced us to
- reconsider our answers. Variations in spelling of names etc are unavoidable as
- often we are going only on the soundtrack. Let us know if you disagree with our
- answers in any way, and we apologize for any errors.
- Here we go then...
-
- 1. How many immortals are there in Highlander?
- > There are six: Conner, Ramirez, Kurgan, Kastigir, Faziel, and the
- non-starring (apart from a photograph) Polish national Vasilek.
- 2. How old is Conner when he first goes into battle?
- > This is a tricky one. Conner says after his near-death experience to
- Dougal:"We've been kinsmen 20 years..." so he appears to be 20. But, when he
- reveals himself (in more ways than one!) to Brenda he says:"I was born in
- 1518..." As the initial battle is in 1536 (as told by the priest as the
- soldiers leave the village), he is only 18! Unspotted mistake or what?
- 3. What is the motif on the battleflag of the Frasers?
- > Three mountain daisies, or a similar flower.
- 4. What is the weight of the wrestling tag team introduced at the start of
- the movie?
- >We meant the second tag-team, as they're the ones whose weight
- we hear the announcer mention, and that is 745 pounds.
- 5. What are the names of Conner's two cousins?
- > Dougal and Angus. We assume Angus is a cousin, but he might be an uncle or
- something else - there's a lot of inbreeding in these medieval Highland
- villages!
- 6. Where was Brenda born?
- > Somewhere in Pennsylvania, according to her biography on her book-jacket.
- The exact town or city we cannot tell for sure, but it's possibly Scranton.
- 7. What is Brenda's full name?
- > Brenda Jesica Elizabeth Wyatt.
- 8. What are the different names Conner has assumed since he arrived in
- America?
- > These appear on the computer screen when Brenda and the computer
- geek Rick are researching on Russell Nash. The names are: Adrian Montague,
- Jaques Lefebiet, Alfred Nicholson, Rupert Wellingford, and Russell Nash.
- 9. Who was the ruler to whom Ramirez was chief metallurgist?
- > King Charles the Fifth of Spain.
- 10. What was the name of Ramirez' first wife's father?
- > Masimuni or Masamuni, we can't agree on the spelling. (Troy in Georgia
- pointed out to us that it was in fact his last wife... our mistake)
- 11. What is Ramirez' full name?
- > Juan Sanchez Vilalobos Ramirez.
- 12. What is the mean absorbancy rating of the metal Brenda is testing?
- > It's 2611, whatever that means.
- 13. Under what name does The Kurgan check in to the hotel?
- > Victor Kruger (probably a relation of Freddy!)
- 14. What Queen song, not on the album soundtrack, IS played during the movie?
- > Hammer to Fall is played while the Vietnam survival nut is cruising the city
- in his car. Also played was New York New York, either is correct.

- >Glenmorangie, a great and tasty whisky.
- 21. What is Rachel's last name?
- >Ellenstein.
- 22. What is Brenda's "usual", at the bar?
- >I'm afraid we do not actually know. The bottle and the glass she has it in
- suggests some sort of brandy or fortified wine, but other than that...
- Can anybody help?
- 23. What is the last piece of advice given to Conner by Brenda prior to the
- battle with Kurgan?
- >Don't lose your head.(Surprise, surprise.)
- 24. What is Kurgan's standard greeting to his female prey?

- 37. What is the name of the Vietnam veteran Kurgan impales?
- >Kirk Matunis.
- 38. What is the rough translation of the Nazi's last words?
- >"No, you will have to shoot me first."
- 39. What is Conner's reply?
- > "Whatever you say Jack, you're the master race." BLAM, BLAM, BLAM!

- >What do you do with it? "You eat it" How revolting! (Sounds fair enough!)
- 47. If Conner was a human, how would he have died the first two times?
- >Stabbed by the Kurgan, and being drowned by the rather callous Ramirez.
- 48. Similarly for the Kurgan, how many times would Kurgan have died in the
- fight with Ramirez?
- > This depends on whether you think that the lightning hitting him would have
- killed him, or whether it was still part of the Quickening. He first has his
