  22. I am not going to spend my life defending Shamir - the man was a disaster
  23. to Israel and I was very happy to see his party lose. Nontheless he, as well
  24. as the late Menachem Begin, was many times ill-quoted by the media.
  25. Especially, things they said about terror organizations were presented as if
  26. they said them about all Arabs.

  28. Also, there are rather disturbing voices from the other side. Faisal Husseini,
  29. who is considered a mainstream Palestinian leader, talked just
  30. last month about "dissolving the Zionist entity" (Israel). If
  31. this kind of talk is still going on, it might suggest that not
  32. too much has changed in the way some Arabs view Israel.

  39. Hardly. Kahane, don't forget, was excluded from running to the Israeli 
  40. parliament. When he was allowed to run, he had one seat (out of 120). 
  41. You forget that the deportees will be allowed back in in one year or
  42. two. Furthermore, the organizations to which they belong (Hamas
  43. and Islamic Jihad) have not only openly declared that their goal is the 
  44. complete destruction of Israel, they have also killed numerous 
  45. moderate Palestinians who have supported the peace process. In
  46. one week, they killed 6 Israeli soldiers, tried to plant 3 car bombs in highly 
  47. populated areas, and planned an attack on a high-school in Jerusalem. 
  48. These people are doing their best to kill the peace process.
