  19.     The answer to your literal question is YES, someone out there
  20.     can tell you whether it is possible or not.

  22.     The answer to your implied question is NO, you cannot normally
  23.     write your own lexical functions into DCL.

  25.     There are a few workarounds:
  26.         1. Work for Digital on the DCL team and put it in
  27.         2. Grease the palm of someone in category 1
  28.         3. Run an image which sets a symbol (lib$set_symbol)
  29.            or otherwise returns the information you seek.
