  13.     Considering Japan's Fifth Generation project lack of breakthrough results,
  14. and the current crisis with Japanese banks (ie loan loss exposure due to
  15. big drops in real estate and stock holding equity), as just a few of many
  16. Japanese companies' screwups (like the ones we have here in the US), and
  17. it becomes less impressive that a big Japanese company is lending its name
  18. (and stock price) to cold fusion.
  19.     Also, much of Japan's great physics research comes out of the Japanese
  20. Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI).  That you haven't heard much out
  21. of these guys is not reassuring to the big company theory.
