- Could someone point me to recent results on the densest-sphere-packing
- problem for 3D space? I heard that it was finally proved that
- the face-centered cubic lattice (also known as rhombohedral lattice?)
- is indeed a densest packing. Is this correct and, if so, what is
- a good reference?
