- A 486-66 will run, in general, about 6 times faster than a 386-33.
- Fractint running in floating point mode may be, say, 7 or 8 times faster
- (more efficient FPU plus shorter communication time between CPU and FPU).
- These are generalizations. Anyone got some real benchmarks with Fractint?

- Speaking of speed, how much would people give for a Mandelbrot/Julia generator
- board that, say, runs a few times faster than a 486 and computes with 128-bit
- precision? I've been thinking of developing a Mandelbrot/Julia chip, and want
- to know if it would be worth my time.
