  12. I can just see myself in the next energy crunch, skulking along
  13. at night with my portable flywheel/generator/motor and magnetic
  14. contacts (called leeches in the future vernacular), looking for
  15. some unprotected flywheel to bleed down.

  19. How about some kind of emergency windup on the flywheel, a gear
  20. and ratchet rope/pulley similar to lawn mowers.  A folding arm to
  21. throw the rope over, and a loop in the end for one's foot.
