  14. Since my earlier post about Saucony vs. Asics drew no response, I'll
  15. phrase the question a little more generally.  Is anyone aware of any
  16. studies that have been done comparing the various shock absorption
  17. technologies (GRID vs. Gel vs. ARC vs. Air) to determine their relative
  18. effectiveness, possibly from an engineering standpoint?  How much is
  19. hype and how much is based in fact?
  20.  
  21. Does anyone have personal experience switching to one of these types
  22. of shoes and noticing a significant improvement in shock absorption,
  23. particularly with longer (>20-mile) runs?
