  12. I have a 78 Trans Am with a pontiac 400 and Borg Warner T-10 four speed
  13. installed.

  15. Lately I have noticed that on the drivers side exhaust ( its dual exhaust )
  16. alot of water vapor comes out of the tailpipe while noe is coming out of
  17. the exhaust from the other head...
  18.  
  19. What could be causing this??? Is my head gasket going bad and leaking coolant
  20. into the combustion chamber?

  22. I have noticed that the operating temp. has been running higher than normal
  23. and went and bought a thermostat today but didn't yet put it in.
  24. ( normal op. temp. =180F, running at about 210-220F after driving for a while
  25.   which really concerns me... )

  27. Any and all help will be appreciated...

  29. My plans for tomorrow are to install the new thermostat and then make sure
  30. that the coolant is full to the proper amount.  If it then starts to do this
  31. fade toward a higher temp. as I drive it for a while... What does that indicate?

  33. God, I really don't want to replace a head gasket!
