- hmmmm, my contention that real Diesels are turbocharged is based on the fact
- that the supercharger on the GMC/Detroit-Diesels is there *only* for cylinder
- scavenging, rather than responding to increased output-demand or altitude as is
- the case with the elegantly simple turbocharger. The GMCs *do* require a
- turbocharger to realize their full potential, as does any Diesel.

- I, too, am curious about locomotive Diesels, and *L*A*R*G*E* marine engines as
- well... (a *small* marine engine, a variant of the Cummins B5.9 family,
- delivers 320hp@2500rpm... and, yes, it is still 359cid).
