- camshaft gear. American V8s were/are notorious for putting in cam gears
- with NYLON teeth instead of steel. Supposedly, they made the engine
- quieter than using a steel gear. I suppose they're right - the engine is
- _real_ quiet when it's sitting on the side of the road with all the cam
- gear teeth sitting in the oil pan. (yes, I speak from personal experience)

- I would recommend changing the timing chain & gears at about 100k if you
- have a nylon tooth gear. Change over to a steel gear, and you'll probably
- never have any more trouble.
