  14.         I wouldn't ask this on this forum, except that I am
  15. going on a 5 day 1000 mile roundtrip drive tomorrow, and I
  16. need to decide whether to try to get this problem looked at
  17. today or rent a car.  I'll try to keep this short and succinct.

  19. CAR: '91 Corolla EFI Sedan ~50K miles
  20. PROBLEM:  Last night, in the middle of my drive home, engine
  21. stalled EVERY time I stopped at a stop light.  It restarted
  22. fine each time on the first try.  The engine didn't make any
  23. odd sounds or run rough, it just quietly cut off every time I
  24. took my foot off the accelerator and put on the clutch and brake.
  25. When I got home and parked, I let the car idle and it didn't
  26. cut off.
  27.         This morning, it started fine, doesn't idle rough at
  28. all.  I didn't cut off on the way to work.  I checked the
  29. plugs and the plug wires, they looked fine.  I took off the
  30. distributor cap and checked for moisture or cracks and it
  31. also was dry as a bone.

  37. * We have had MAJOR snow in the past few days and there's
  38. alot of ice/snow/water on the roads (but it's not that cold,
  39. been between 25-45 lately.)
  40. * This morning when I was checking for moisture, I revved up the
  41. engine to 4-5K RPM and had the driver door opened, I heard a
  42. very light hissing or spraying sound.  I don't know whether that's
  43. new or normal since I usually don't have the door open.

  45. Any ideas? Are there any quick things I can or should try?  Should
  46. I worry about this?  If I wasn't going on a trip with the car tomorrow,
  47. I wouldn't be so panicky!
