  12. I had an '81 Stanza with very similar symptoms: stalled on highway,
  13. tach sudden;y dropped to 0, even though the engine was in gear and
  14. still turning, would cool off and run a bit more, I could cool it
  15. faster by pouring solvent on the distributor.  It tourned out to be
  16. the matchbooked sized module inside the distributor: $160 from 
  17. the dealer. I think the car had 6x,000 miles on it. I think whatever
  18. your problem is, it is probably on the ignition.
