-
- Yes it is. How did you intend on hooking it up?
-
- The M&K Subwoofer can be driven directly from a preamp output or
- from your speaker outputs.
-
- In the pre-amp connection, the regular speakers would be attached
- to your normal speaker outputs from your main amplifier. This
- sends a full range signal--including bass to the main speakers.
-
- If you hook the M&K to your amp's speaker outputs, you can hook
- your DR-7's to the M&K subwoofer. However, the speaker output
- of the M&K is still a full frequency signal...so you DR-7's will
- still be receiving a full range signal including bass.
-
- If the DR-7's have problems with the bass level (it will really
- be unchanged, the sub doesn't add any), contact M&K and they can
- give you details on how to insert a high-pass in series with the
- DR-7's. [You shouldn't have problems, but just in case...]
-
- M&K ships most of their subwoofers with the bass cutoff (or
- crossover) frequency set too high, IMHO. Most sound much better
- if you cut them off at 80-100 Hz or less.
